Looking for an essential piece of marine equipment? Look no further.

The A052T Class B+ AIS Transponder is the perfect solution for broadcasting your vessel’s details — including location, name, dimensions, speed, and more.

Compact and reliable, the A052T not only meets your local Class B+ AIS compliance requirements, but also offers enhanced safety and project tracking capabilities.

In addition to transmitting your AIS data to nearby vessels and shore stations, the A052T also receives and decodes incoming AIS messages — just like our dedicated AIS receivers. It integrates GPS data with AIS signals, allowing you to accurately track your own position and see other vessels in your vicinity in real-time.

Display your AIS and GPS data on:

  • Chart plotters via NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 connections
  • Laptops, computers, or tablets via USB OTG (compatible with Android and Linux)
  • Up to four WiFi-enabled devices simultaneously

Whether for safety, compliance, or enhanced situational awareness, the A052T is the all-in-one AIS transponder you can rely on.

  • Tracks movement of nearby AIS vessels in real time, displaying their course, speed, and heading changes on a PC, chart plotter, or wireless device.
  • A cost-effective solution for collision avoidance and maritime monitoring.
  • Fully compliant with all required standards under the European RF & TTE directive.
  • Real-time LED indicators confirm successful transmission and reception of AIS messages.
  • Supports web-based configuration via WiFi.

Find out whether you need a Class A or Class B+ transceiver here.

Perfect for use in all Class B+ boats (under 300 tonnes etc.): sailing boats or yachts, small fishing boats, etc.

A052T 5W AIS SOTDMA Class B+ WiFi NMEA 0183 NMEA 2000 AIS Transponder N2K

Step 1 – Decide where to put your transponder on your boat

A key advantage of this Class B+ Transceiver is that we’ve encased it in aluminum – to minimize interference from other equipment.

Step 2 – Choose your power source

The A052T Class B+ Transponder can be powered by a power supply ranging from 12v to 24v.

Step 3 – What do you want to see?

The Class B+ Transponder will broadcast your location and receive AIS signals.

  • A VHF antenna – to collect and transmit the AIS data
  • If you want to use the same VHF aerial as your radio communication, use a splitter.
  • A GPS antenna – to pinpoint location.

Step 4 – Transmitting your location (ON/OFF)

You can decide when to transmit your location using STANDBY mode in configuration software.

Step 5 – Choosing your Transmitting power

The default is 5 Watts, changeable to 1 or 2 Watts.

Step 6 – Which screen/s will you connect your A052T transponder to:

  • NMEA 0183 Chart plotter
  • Windows or Linux laptop
  • Up to 4 wireless devices
  • Wireless devices through router in Station mode WiFi
  • NMEA 2000 chart plotter

Who will be able to see my transmitted AIS signal?

Nearby ships, even in poor visibility, plus online AIS services.

FAQ – How to connect NMEA0183 RS422 to older RS232 devices.

This product uses the NMEA 0183-RS422 protocol (differential signal), however some older chart plotters or instruments may use the older NMEA-RS232 protocol (single-ended signal).

To ensure A026 compatibility with any older NMEA0183 device, check if your device uses NMEA0183 RS422 or RS232

  • NMEA0183 RS422 devices’ wiring is compatible ‘out of the box’.  Swap NMEA + and NMEA – wires if the communication does not work.
  • NMEA0183 RS232 will require a Protocol Bridge (AS03) to connect your wiring

Connecting the A026 to an older (RS232) instrument or chart plotter is not a problem, simply order the AS03 Protocol Bridge. Our AS03 Protocol Bridge connects NMEA-RS232 wiring to MNEA0183-RS422 and vice versa, using a simple ‘plug ‘n’ play’ connection, with no setup or configuration needed.

You will probably need an AS03 if you are connecting to an older Garmin, Raymarine or Standard Horizon device. The easiest way to check is to look at the input/output connections on the device that you will connect the multiplexer to. If the input/output connections on your device (chart plotter, depth reader, etc.) have a TX, RX or GND connection, you will need to use a protocol bridge.
