smartboat app on android

I’d like to use the smartboat app on an old android phone as a second wind instrument. I have a027 which works fine with other android apps like nke instrument, but smartboat app seems “deaf” to the nmea 0183 stream coming from the quark. The app info says “nmea 0183 data stream source must provide the stream via websockets or raw tcp server. Smartboat acts as a tcp client only not as a server”.

Does anyone know if a027 uses websockets or is a raw tcp server (I don’t know what any of this means)?
