      Hi,

I have a A27 which presents the AIS and GPS data to my iPad via wifi. My new boat already has a EM-TRAC AIS transponder built in. However this EM-TRAC does not provide a wifi signal. If I connect the NMEA from the EM-TRAC to the A27 will I then get the AIS data to my iPad? In other words; can I use the A27 as a bridge between sea talk and NMEA info and my iPad via wifi?

Or is the NMEA on the A27 output only?

      Thanks Frans

No. The A027 only has NMEA0183 output.

The A027 has a SeaTalk1, AIS and GPS input and and NMEA 0183, USB and WiFi output.

So it cannot send an NMEA 0183 input to WiFi output.

The most cost effective units to achieve this (NMEA 0183 input and WiFi output) would be the A024 or A026

          A026 — https://www.quark-elec.com/product/qk-a … -receiver/

Or for a sophisticated 2-way NMEA 0183 to WiFi multiplexer with routing and filtering options, use the

          A033 — https://www.quark-elec.com/product/qk-a033-wifi-usb-nmea-0183-multiplexer-with-seatalk-converter/

          I hope that helps.

          Happy sailing!
