after several weeks of use, feedback to Quark.

GPS problem: very low position stability and SOG / COG

I use the GPS antenna QK-AS04. Two problems:

      – Major: very low position stability, a trace record with A026 data gives a length greater than 20% to 30% more than the reality or other GPS.

      – Minor: some bad longitude positions transmitted (missing sign, wrong position East / West), 2 or 4 times per day for daily track recording.

Is it a software or hardware problem?

Do you have a solution to solve this major problem?

Did you connect any devices on NMEA in and NMEA out? If not, Please remove the green Adaptor on it to see any changes? If it still doesn’t work, can you try to short connected all them(use a piece of wires to connect all these four connections)? Thanks.

Yes, NMEA inputs and outputs are connected.

I do not remember exactly how I wired this with the KQ-AS03 bridge to receive the navigation data and transmit the position to VHF.

I will check in a few weeks and what NMEA sentences are transmitted by the Furuno navigation center.

Surely a loop with the same GPS data by A026 and re-send by RMB, GLL

IN received: wind MWD, depth DBT, speed STW, RMB, GLL …

OUT transmitted by wired connection: GPS data for VHF

And for the antenna, I will try another when I have an SMA-BNC connector.

thanks for the answer, I think the explanation is found.

Thanks for your technical support, it helped me solve my GPS problem.

I changed the NMEA IN sentences by removing the GPS phrase from the navigation center to A026.

              No more problem with GPS.

Perhaps an evolution of the GUI configuration software could allow choosing the NMEA IN and OUT sentences…
