Purchased on Amazon in August and installed the AO-26. Connected to Navionics via WiFi flawlessly. Installed a dedicated VHF antenna for the AIS but for some reason it’s only seeing targets within a1/2 mile.

Tested the new antenna on the sailboat VHF radio and it worked fine. Connected the AIS to our mast antenna at 18 meters in height and still no targets outside 1/2 mile range.

LED’s are flashing when data is received. Navionics shows the device and external GPS is received data continuously. Shows AIS receiving data when targets are within a 1/2 mile.

      Any suggestions?

Chris, did you use a clean power supply? I have a sensitivity issue at the beginning of using my A026. After replacing Quark 12v/5v adaptor, I got reasonable receiving range.

The other thing you may need consider, are you using LED light? The LED light does generate RF noise which could affect AO26 sensitivity. Fix your A026 away from your engine is another thing you maybe need to know.

I shut down power to all boat systems. Used two independent and different brand portable battery banks, along with the boats power system. Same result.

I installed easyais and snapshot these results coming in via WiFi. Files to large to attach. If there a program that will log the communication on Android. Thx

Update. Sent the two snapshots from easyais via email.

Updated:. Now picking up targets up to 15 miles away. Changed fitting on the new antenna and it’s working fine now on Navionics.

Interesting to know what kind of aerial you are using now. Thanks Chris.
