A031 config tool with windows 8.1

      Have recently purchased the A031 but I am having difficulty getting the config tool to work as the driver dpinst-amd64 will not install on windows 8.1.

      and It won’t allow the 32 bit version to run.

      Message {Cannot complete the device driver installation wizard} driver name: STMicroelectronics (usbser) Ports ……install failed.

      Have tried numerous times and after a number of reboots.

      I have also tried it on my old XP laptops which I could take to the boat, but having researched online, it seems that XP does not support the driver.

      Error message: cancelIoEx could not be located in kernel32.dll.

      It does however work on my Windows 7 home computer only, but I really need it to run on my windows 8.1 laptop.

      Would appreciate advice on how to solve this problem.Are any other drivers or versions available to try.

        … whoops, typo on original post- have now corrected: A301 >> A031. Wondering if that was why I have not received a response. Am desperate for a solution, can anyone help, please?

          Hi Clive, We haven’t seen this issue before. You probably like to try to download the following driver which supports the XP system.

            Thanks, I downloaded the driver and it now installs OK. However the Config tool will not run on either of my XP laptops so I can’t check if the A301 now connects. Both give the same error: cancelIoEx could not be located in kernel32.dll.
