Yes if there is one wire (sometimes labelled tx/rx ) then you can try some of the configurations on our chart in the forum about single ended and differential NMEA.
If you’re still not having any luck then I would suggest the Garmin bridge device that we sell. It is very cheap and should solve the problems you are having. Have a look at the link below.
